Synchrotron and Neutron Users' Group

Who We Are

The Synchrotron and Neutron Users' Group (SNUG) is a group of scientists dedicated to science advocacy for synchrotron and neutron science. We represent over 10,000 faculty, student, industrial and government scientists nationwide.

The Department of Energy (DOE) office of Basic Energy Science supports four synchrotrons and four neutron sources in the United States. The scientific research made possible by these facilities encompass everything from national security and alternative energy to nanomachines.

Read on to find out where these facilities are located, what they do, and how they make so many exciting scientific breakthroughs possible.
